A friendly shadow in the wood, a leaf drifting down from black and twisted boughs, an outstretched hand on the lonely road.

Tall and packed with lean muscle, Jati stands with an easy confidence and a warm demeanor. A few scars mark her body here and there as a testament to the usual wear and tear an active life reaps, the most prominent of which are a pair of cuts marring her face, one made by the straight edge of a blade, and the other by the uneven tear of a beast's claw. Eyes of a wolfish yellow are set among black-striped markings, and a knowledgeable observer might notice that her features suggest blended Keeper and Seeker heritage. She walks with the light step of a natural acrobat.Though there's a wild look to this miqo'te, with her prominent striping, sharp canines and tousled hair, her nails are kept trimmed and her person is kept clean, revealing a fastidious nature. She usually smells of fresh pine and cracked leather, with a hint of a citrus soap just beneath. Her clothes and gear are well maintained, if a bit travel-worn.

Whether she's making a delivery, roaming through the trees, or simply headed home, Jati can often be found wandering the many paths of the Twelveswood, and occasionally lands beyond when work or whim call for it. She's usually willing to help travelers on their way, lend bow or blade in aid, share a campfire, purchase provisions, or simply offer friendly conversation.

As a ranger, Jati often takes odd jobs scaring off, relocating, or otherwise hunting beasts and monsters. She can be hired for such work, may run into allies or rivals with such work, or simply be seeking more information about a particular hunt. She's more than capable of recognizing when she might need a little help!

Dangers come in all shapes and sizes, and Jati is motivated to help sniff them out. Not every problem is easily solved, however; situations in which a combatant's strength will not see them through the night can be some of the most terrifying. At such times, companions, all, must mingle wit, perseverance, and luck to survive.

With a Keeper mother and Seeker father, Jati has had only a little exposure to both sides of the family. She's had sparse dealings with the splinter of the Wolf tribe her father hails from, and spent most of her years living with her mother in the Black Shroud, integrated with Gridanians. She is curious to learn more of traditional life on both sides of the family, and would gladly seek connections with kin.

SLICE OF LIFE | HIRED HAND | BACKGROUND

In her youth, Jati spent a few years working as a ranch-hand in one of the chocobo stables local to the Shroud. She's comfortable enough around beasts, is familiar with saddle and harness repairs, and is almost always willing to roll up her sleeves and wade into a mire of hard work.

Whether staying the night at a tavern during her travels, visiting a shop to replenish supplies, or simply exploring what a town has to offer, Jati can occasionally be found in less wild environs, and is usually open to some conversation over a mug of drink. Those are ideal places to pick up local rumors, after all.

As an agent and infiltrator for a subset of the Eorzean Alliance, Jati is always on the lookout for allies or informants to work alongside, or for potential threats to sniff out, monitor, and act upon. Being reform-minded, however, she is prone to seeking out paths that do not end in bloodshed.Her current assignment involves counterintelligence and the active investigation of lingering threats from foreign agents, Garlean or otherwise.
